How to configure Telus PVR with TV and make it working?

Configuring your TELUS PVR (Personal Video Recorder) with your TV involves several steps. Here's a guide to set it up:


1. Gather Equipment

Make sure you have:

  • TELUS PVR device.

  • HDMI cable (or component cables, if needed).

  • Power cable for the PVR.

  • Your TV remote and TELUS remote.

  • Internet connection (via Wi-Fi or Ethernet).

2. Connect the PVR to Your TV

  • HDMI Connection (Recommended):

    • Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the back of the PVR in the "HDMI OUT" port.

    • Connect the other end to an available HDMI port on your TV.

  • Component Connection (if HDMI is unavailable):

    • Use the component cables (red, blue, green for video; red and white for audio) to connect the PVR to the TV.

3. Connect the PVR to the Internet

  • Via Ethernet (Preferred):

    • Use an Ethernet cable to connect the PVR to your TELUS modem/router.

  • Via Wi-Fi:

    • During setup, you’ll have an option to connect to your Wi-Fi network. Select your network and enter the password.

4. Power Up

  1. Connect the power cable to the PVR and plug it into a power outlet.

  2. Turn on your TV and the PVR using their respective remotes.

5. Select the Input Source

  1. Use your TV remote to select the correct input source (e.g., HDMI 1, HDMI 2) where the PVR is connected.

  2. You should see the TELUS interface or setup screen on your TV.

6. Follow On-Screen Setup

  1. Use the TELUS remote to navigate through the setup process:

    • Choose your language.

    • Set up the network (if not done via Ethernet).

    • Pair the remote to the PVR and your TV for seamless control.

  2. Log in to your TELUS account if prompted.

7. Activate the PVR

  1. Your PVR may automatically activate, or you might need to call TELUS support at 1-888-811-2323 to finalize activation.

8. Test the System

  • Try changing channels, recording a program, or accessing the On-Demand feature to ensure everything works.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • No Signal on TV?

    • Double-check all cable connections.

    • Ensure the TV is on the correct input source.

  • Internet Issues?

    • Reboot your modem and PVR.

    • Verify your Wi-Fi credentials during setup.

  • Remote Not Working?

    • Replace batteries or re-pair the remote to the PVR.
