how to set up Shaw TV and internet services

  1. Check your Shaw installation kit: When you sign up for Shaw TV and internet services, you should receive an installation kit that includes the necessary equipment, such as a modem, cables, and a set-top box for TV.

  2. Connect your modem: Start by connecting your Shaw modem to a power outlet using the provided power adapter. Then, connect one end of the coaxial cable (also provided) to the cable outlet on your wall and the other end to the "Cable In" port on the back of the modem.

  3. Establish an internet connection: Connect one end of an Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on your modem and the other end to your computer or router if you have one. If you're using a wireless router, you can connect it to the modem wirelessly or via an Ethernet cable.

  4. Activate your modem: Once the physical connections are in place, you'll need to activate your modem. You can typically do this by following the instructions provided in the installation kit or by visiting Shaw's website and following their activation process.

  5. Set up your Wi-Fi network (if applicable): If you have a wireless router connected to your modem, you can set up your Wi-Fi network by accessing the router's configuration settings. You'll need to refer to the user manual or the manufacturer's instructions for your specific router model.

  6. Set up your Shaw TV set-top box: If you have Shaw TV services, you'll need to connect the set-top box to your TV. This typically involves connecting an HDMI cable from the set-top box to your TV's HDMI input. Ensure your TV is set to the corresponding HDMI input.

  7. Power on your devices: Once everything is connected, power on your modem, router (if applicable), and TV set-top box. Allow a few minutes for the devices to initialize and establish connections.

  8. Follow on-screen instructions: After powering on the set-top box, you may need to follow on-screen instructions to complete the TV setup process. This may involve selecting your preferred language, scanning for channels, and configuring any additional settings.

  9. Test your services: Once the setup is complete, verify that your internet connection is working by opening a web browser on your computer and visiting a website. For TV services, ensure you can access channels and navigate the TV interface.

If you encounter any issues during the setup process or need specific instructions for your equipment, I recommend reaching out to Shaw's customer support. They will be able to provide you with personalized assistance to ensure a successful setup.
